Finnish Bombers, postwar markings - SBS Model decals 1:48

The set holds decals for Finnish bomber aircraft in the postwar period. Postwar markings are exactly the theme you will almost never find in basic kits: box schemes concentrate on the war period, while the machines serving after 1945 already wore a different national marking and often different serial and registration markings as well. The set is worked in 1:48 scale. The particular types of aircraft, the number of schemes and the extent of the technical markings are given on the packaging and in the instructions with the set.

The theme

After the Second World War the Finnish Air Force operated a park of bomber and multipurpose aircraft of various origins, which it had taken over from the previous years and gradually replaced. After the war it went over to a roundel national marking, which took the place of the earlier way of marking; it is precisely this change that is, from a modeler's point of view, the main reason why postwar machines are a theme of their own.

How to work with the decals

• Apply them onto a glossy, perfectly dry surface, or a matte frame will arise around a decal.
• Settle the larger areas of the markings on a bomber at once and draw the excess water off from the center toward the edges, so that no bubbles are left.
• On riveted and divided surfaces use a softener drop by drop and do not move the decal any more.
• Once it has dried, rinse the remains of the adhesive off and even the model out with a matte or satin overcoat.
• Before gluing, offer the decal up dry and check that the size matches your kit.

For modelers of aircraft in 1:48 who want to build a machine outside the usual wartime schemes, and for collectors of decals for the air forces of the north. The set suits as an addition to a model in progress as well, on which you no longer want to use the markings from the box.
