QMT 1:48 Focke-Wulf Fw 190D-9 to D-13 — wheel bay masks is a self-adhesive set for spraying with which you close off the landing gear bays while painting. It is not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set from the QMT brand in 1:48 scale for the Fw 190D series, that is, the versions with a lengthened fuselage and an inverted V12 engine. It is an accessory for painting: self-adhesive die-cut shapes that close off the area of the wheel bays during spraying. Neither the model nor the paints are included in the package.
The result is often decided only at the moment the mask comes off. The ideal time is shortly after spraying, when the paint has set but is not yet fully cured — the edge then breaks cleanly. When the removal is put off for days, the film hardens and bridges the edge of the mask with a continuous layer, so that it tears and flakes even outside the masked area as the mask is pulled away. If that happens, it helps to cut the edge beforehand with a fresh scalpel blade run exactly along the edge of the mask.
Peel the mask off slowly, at an angle and back over itself, never perpendicular upward. Work with fine-tipped tweezers, and on larger pieces start from one corner. Do not rush into handling the model right after the mask is off, because fresh paint is soft and takes a fingerprint readily. Any adhesive residue left behind by the mask can be wiped away carefully with a dry cloth, not with a solvent.
The package contains masks only. The model, the paints and the glue are not in it.
