This is a detail resin set of the landing gear bays, not an airplane model. The set replaces the wheel bays from a plastic kit with a resin form with a faithful inner structure, ribbing and suggested lines. The installation usually calls for reworking the lower part of the wing of the kit, which is why the set is intended for more experienced modelers. It is made by Aires.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-3 was an early version of the German Fw 190 fighter with the BMW 801 radial engine. The landing gear retracted into the wing and its bays are clearly visible with the gear down, so a faithful rendering of them markedly raises the scale quality of a model. The type was among the heavily armed machines of the Second World War.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut them from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Rework the openings in the wing if necessary and clean up the edges; protect your airways when sanding resin and ventilate the space. The inside of the bays is brought to life by a base shade, a gentle wash into the recesses and dry highlighting of the edges.
