A decal sheet from the Colibri Decals brand in 1:48 scale with the markings of Focke-Wulf Fw 190 fighter aircraft in the A-3 version from the JG 51 fighter wing. It is the first part of a series; the package contains the decals alone, not a kit. The exact number of schemes is given on the packaging of the sheet.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 was a single-seat low-wing fighter of all-metal construction with a BMW radial engine, a wide landing gear track and a roomy cockpit with a good view. The A-3 version belonged to the early production forms of the A line and brought a more powerful engine unit along with changes to the armament in the wing. From the later versions it is recognized above all by the arrangement of the weapons and the details of the engine cowling; it is worth checking these differences on a model, so that the markings fit the right variant.
Varnish the surface under the decals with a gloss varnish and let it dry. Cut the motifs out close to the image and soak them briefly in lukewarm water. On this type the crosses and unit markings often pass across panel lines and across the edge of the weapon cover, so use a softener and press the decal down with a damp cotton bud. Once dry, even the surface out with a matte or semi-matte varnish and only then apply a wash into the panel lines.
