An injection-molded plastic kit of the legendary American racing special Gee Bee Model R-2 Super Sportster in 1:48 scale. The package combines plastic parts with photo-etched metal and masks, so even small details can be rendered faithfully. The model is assembled and painted.
The Gee Bee R-2 was one of the pair of extreme Super Sportster racers of the early 1930s, with a massive radial engine, a tiny fuselage and an unmistakable barrel shape. It was designed above all for speed courses and is among the most iconic and at the same time most demanding aircraft of the golden age of air racing.
Cut the photo-etched parts from the fret and bond them with super glue. Finish the cockpit before closing up the fuselage. Lay the striking glossy racing finish on with an airbrush over a good primer; the masks make sharp transitions between color fields easier. Decals bed down better on a gloss varnish.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories beyond the contents of the package are not included, unless stated otherwise.
