A photo-etched metal set in 1:48 scale from Aber with holders and tightening clasps for the tools on German armored vehicles, in the early form used up to roughly 1943. The metal holders have the real thickness of the strip and let you fix a shovel, a pry bar or a wrench in a way that plastic castings cannot manage. This is an accessory for a plastic kit, not a standalone model.
German armored vehicles carried a set of pioneer tools on the fenders and the sides of the hull, held in place by metal clasps. The form of the holders changed over the course of the war: the early types were more complex and more laborious, and from 1943 a simplified design replaced them. Telling the two types apart is therefore a rewarding guide to dating the vehicle you are building correctly.
Nip the parts from the etched fret and clean them up, make the bends on a bending tool or along the scored lines and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a base coat for adhesion. In 1:48 scale the parts are very small, so sharp tweezers and good lighting pay off.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
