A set of detail parts from Tamiya intended to improve plastic models of the F-14 Tomcat in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit but an accessory that combines photo-etch and metal parts and is prepared for both the F-14A and the F-14D versions.
It includes photo-etched seat belts in two renderings (for the F-14A and the F-14D), photo-etched rear-view mirrors and a turned metal probe for the nose of the fuselage, which adds both fineness and stiffness. The parts raise the realism of the cockpit and of the front part of the aircraft.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a two-seat carrier fighter of the US Navy with variable-geometry wings. It served for decades as an interceptor and a carrier of modern armament and ranks among the icons of the Cold War and of later conflicts as well.
The set contains detail parts only. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
