A masking set from the QMT brand in 1:48 scale for the British carrier-based fighter and attack aircraft Hawker Sea Fury in the FB.11 version. It is not a model but an accessory for painting: die-cut self-adhesive shapes with which the area of the wheel bays is closed off during spraying.
Self-adhesive masks are not goods worth buying in bulk for years ahead. The adhesive stiffens over time and shrinks back at the edges, and the mask then either fails to seat or, the other way round, leaves a trace once it is off. So buy them for a model under construction rather than for the shelf, and store them flat, in their original packaging, away from direct sun and away from heating. A sheet that has lain loose in a box for a long time tends to be dusty on the tacky side — and dust is exactly what lets paint under the edge.
Lift the mask off the backing paper with tweezers by its edge, not by its face, so that you do not touch the adhesive. If an individual piece ripples as it comes off, lay it back down and straighten it, because a folded mask will no longer give a straight edge. Break the work up: apply, press down, check against the light, and only then spray.
The package contains masks only. The model, the paints and the glue are not in it.
