1:48 Hurricane Mk.I - a set of painting masks is a painting accessory to a kit you have already bought, not a model. The Montex templates are die-cut to the shape of the glazing of a particular model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of die-cut painting masks for a model of the fighter Hawker Hurricane Mk.I in 1:48 scale from the maker Montex. This item is not a kit or part of one; it serves only to cover the areas that are meant to stay free of paint while painting. The shapes correspond to the Airfix kit.
The Hawker Hurricane Mk.I was a British single-seat fighter with a braced tubular fuselage framework and a twelve-cylinder Rolls-Royce Merlin V engine. Characteristic of it are its more angular, many-paned canopy and its straight rear section, which make masking the frames substantially more tiresome work than on aircraft with a smooth bubble. That is exactly why die-cut templates pay off the most on this type.
The most common mistake is the wrong order. The frames of the cabin are painted in the interior shade on the inside and in the camouflage scheme on the outside, so proceed like this: stick the masks on, spray the frames with the interior color from the inside, let them dry, seat the part on the fuselage and only then spray the whole model with the external coat. Before gluing the clear part, try the edges dry, so that you know how much plastic needs adjusting. Use a cement intended for clear parts for the gluing; ordinary plastic cement will fog the glazing. Apply the paint to a masked area at right angles and in thin layers; spraying at an angle will carry it under the edge of the template.
The set of masks is an accessory to a plastic kit, not a model. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
