It is not a kit but an accessory: the set replaces the plastic wheels from the box with castings with a crisply defined tread and a fine hub texture. The name makes it clear that it is the version with a block tire tread; wheels with a different pattern are also made for the same aircraft, so you choose the type according to the particular machine you are building. The maker is the Czech brand Eduard from Obrnice near Most.
The Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress is an American four-engine heavy bomber with conventional tailwheel landing gear and a pair of large main wheels retracting into the inboard engine nacelles. On this type the main wheels are visible even once the landing gear is retracted, because they did not go into the nacelles entirely. On surviving as well as period machines several tread patterns appear according to the maker and the time of delivery, which is exactly why several wheel variants are sold for one aircraft.
Wash the parts in warm water with detergent, otherwise the paint will not hold on smooth resin. Cut the casting block off with a saw and level the surface wet with sandpaper, with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Do not paint the tires pure black; a dark gray with a hint of a brown tone looks more convincing in scale. Paint the hubs separately; a wheel is easier to mask if you paint it all over in the tire color and then brush the hub over it. If the set holds masking templates for the hubs, they are usually the quickest way to a clean edge.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
