A plastic kit of the British two-seat Jet Provost jet trainer in the T.3/T.3A variant, in 1:48 scale. FLY is a Czech maker specializing in short-run kits, that is kits made with a limited series of molds. The package makes it possible to build a static model of this classic RAF training machine.
The Jet Provost was the basic jet trainer of the Royal Air Force, derived from the piston-engine Percival Provost. It was marked by a pair of seats side by side, a tricycle landing gear and a simple, robust construction. The T.3 version, powered by an Armstrong Siddeley Viper turbojet, served for decades as the standard machine for pilot training. The designation T.3A corresponded to modernized avionics.
With short-run kits expect more careful cleaning up of the parts, possible adjustment of the mating surfaces and a dry test fit. We recommend thin cement for plastic, a base primer and an airbrush for smooth covering coats. The see-through cockpit deserves masking and painting of the interior before the fuselage is closed.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
