Responsibility details are not available.
A set of two flexible Lewis aircraft machine guns in the RNAS (Royal Naval Air Service) form in 1:48 scale from the Greek manufacturer GasPatch Models. The parts are cast in fine light gray resin with faithful detail of the cooling jacket, the magazine and the mount. It is not an airplane model but a detail accessory with which you replace the coarser machine guns of plastic kits or add the observer's flexible onboard weapon. The set is intended for advanced modelers.
The Lewis was a British air-cooled aircraft machine gun of .303 caliber with a characteristic cylindrical cooling jacket and a pan magazine. In the First World War it served mainly as the observer's flexible weapon on two-seat aircraft and as flexible armament. The RNAS form matches the machine guns used by the Royal Naval Air Service.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent residue, cut the casting blocks off carefully and clean the sanded surfaces up with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting; the metal parts come out well with steel and dark metallic colors followed by a fine patina.
This is a supplementary resin set, not an airplane model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the airplane are not included in the package.
