This is a set of decals from the manufacturer Print Scale in the larger 1:48 scale, which reproduces the typical lozenge pattern camouflage fabric used on the covering of German aircraft during the First World War. Version B in the four-color variant imitates the printed fabric with which the surfaces of the wings and the fuselage were covered in the factories. It is not a model and not a mask, but a decal sheet that replaces the laborious hand painting of the whole pattern on a model. The larger 1:48 scale places higher demands on laying the larger areas down accurately.
The lozenge pattern was a pioneering factory camouflage. Instead of spraying by hand, the camouflage pattern was printed directly onto the covering fabric in repeating polygons, which saved time and paint and hid the aircraft well when it was observed from the ground and from the air. The four-color variant was one of the most widespread and it appeared on fighter as well as observation types of the German air service.
Apply the decals over a smooth gloss clear coat. Lay the large areas in this scale down in sections and use a decal softener and a decal fixer so that the pattern settles over the ribbing of the covering as well. Once dry, go over it with a matte or satin varnish, depending on the look you want.
This is not a model and not a mask. Paints, clear coat and the model are not included in the package.
