A sheet of decals in 1:48 scale with the markings of Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter aircraft deployed on the Eastern Front. An accessory for a finished kit, applied to the model only at the end of the build.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 was the main German single-engine fighter aircraft of the Second World War and on the Eastern Front it flew from the opening of the fighting against the Soviet Union until the end of the war. It was precisely there that the most successful German fighter pilots scored the greatest numbers of victories, so their machines are among the rewarding subjects. The markings tended to be varied: alongside the national insignia came personal symbols, unit emblems and quickly sprayed winter finishes that wore away under field conditions.
This is a sheet of decals in 1:48 scale for models of the Bf 109. How many marking options it offers, which particular machines and pilots they belong to and whether it adds technical lettering as well is given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer. The sheet is an accessory for a finished kit, so its turn comes only after the model has been clear-coated. The color schemes and their placement on the aircraft follow the shape of the real subject, not of a particular molding.
First go over the surface under the decal with a gloss clear coat; on a matte surface silvery patches form under the film. Cut the motif out close to the printing and let it soak in lukewarm water until it starts to move on the backing paper. Transfer it onto the moistened place, press the water out from under it with a soft cloth and let it dry without touching it. A softener will help the decal settle into engraved lines and over raised detail. Then go over the finished model with a matte or semi-gloss clear coat, which hides the edges of the film.
The kit, paints, clear coats and decal softener are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
