A set of thirty miniature metal turnbuckles in 1:48 scale from GasPatch. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory for rigging, the bracing wires of biplanes and other First World War aircraft. The turnbuckles are precisely made metal parts that faithfully stand in for the real tensioning couplings on the wires and take the realism of the airframe a level above a simple stretched thread.
The package holds 30 metal turnbuckles in the type C form. They are fitted on the bracing wires between the wings and the fuselage of historic aircraft, where they make the visible termination and the tensioning element of the wire. The metal construction is strong enough to hold the pull of a stretched wire. The turnbuckles suit the building of First World War aircraft models in 1:48 scale from various manufacturers.
Thread the turnbuckle onto the wire (for example stretched nylon thread or elastic thread) and secure it with a drop of cyanoacrylate glue. Before fitting, deburr the parts and paint them a metal, brass or steel color. Work with tweezers and in good light, because the parts are very small.
This is an accessory for rigging, not an aircraft model. The wire, glue, paints and the model are not included in the package.
