This self-adhesive masking set in 1:48 scale is intended for a model of the Russian MiG-31 supersonic interceptor in its modernized BM and BSM versions. It is not a kit or a paint: these are precisely cut masks for the canopy glazing and for the boundaries of color fields, thanks to which you achieve sharp transitions without laborious masking with tape. The HGW brand has long focused on masking sets.
The MiG-31 is a two-seat supersonic interceptor able to fly at high speed and high altitude; in the NATO reporting names it carries the name Foxhound. It is fitted with a powerful radar and long-range missiles for destroying aerial targets at great distance. The BM and BSM versions represent a deeper modernization with new avionics and extended combat capabilities.
Stick the masks onto a perfectly dry, smooth finish. Lay the canopy glazing masks down with tweezers and press the edges carefully against paint bleeding. Spray thin coats at a right angle to the edge and take the mask off while the finish is still flexible. Any adhesive residue is removed by a light polish.
The masking set does not contain paints or a model. It serves as an aid when painting, unless stated otherwise.
