The real subject

The MiG-15bis is a version of the Soviet single-seat jet fighter aircraft of the Mikoyan and Gurevich design bureau. The machine with a markedly swept wing and a barrel-like fuselage was among the most widespread fighters in the world at the turn of the 1940s and 1950s and became renowned for its commitment in Korea. The letters bis in the designation set the later, further improved variant apart from the original form.

Building tips

Try the accessory parts dry before you reach for the glue. Most of them are aimed at places that can no longer be put right once the fuselage is closed, so seat them and let them dry thoroughly before the halves are joined. The plastic seating usually has to be sanded slightly, so that a part sits down without pressure. Wash and degrease the surface before painting and choose the glue according to the material of the part and according to the directions from the manufacturer. Work over a surface with raised edges; a small part will otherwise disappear into the carpet.
