This item is not a stand-alone aircraft model but an accessory resin set from Valom in 1:48 scale. It holds engine nacelles with two-stage supercharged Merlin engines and revised landing gear bays, which serve to convert a de Havilland Mosquito kit into the version with the later high-altitude engines. The set is intended for modelers who want to give their Mosquito the correct type of powerplant.
The two-stage supercharger of the Rolls-Royce Merlin engine fundamentally improved the performance of the Mosquito at high altitude and showed on the outside as well, in differently shaped nacelles and radiators. It is exactly these external differences that the set captures faithfully, so that an ordinary kit becomes a more accurate rendering of a particular high-altitude version. It is a typical aftermarket upgrade, not a complete aircraft.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, carefully cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces - protect your airways when sanding resin. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Before fitting it to the fuselage, a dry assembly and any adjustment of the fit are recommended. Paint it after the seams have been filled, ideally with an airbrush.
