The sheet holds waterslide decals for a model of the single-seat F-5E Tiger II in 1:48 scale. In itself it is not a kit and not a finished model — it serves to finish a plastic model that you buy separately. The title of the sheet refers to the anniversary finish of machines in the service of the Royal Thai Air Force.
The F-5E Tiger II is an improved continuation of the light F-5A fighter. It received more powerful General Electric J85 engines with afterburners, a revised wing with root extensions and an onboard radar, which turned a plain day fighter into a more versatile combat aircraft. The structure remained small, light and cheap to operate, which gave the type an exceptionally long career with dozens of air forces. A number of users went on modernizing the machines with new avionics and kept them in active service long after production ended.
The surface underneath is the key to a clean result. Let the paint cure thoroughly, only then spray over it with gloss clear and leave it to stand until the next day. Cut the decals out with a sharp scalpel along the artwork, so that as little carrier film as possible is left. After soaking in lukewarm water, set the decal on paper and wait until the backing slides freely — pulling at it while wet is the most common cause of a tear. Above the air intakes, at the wing root extensions and on the fin surfaces you will meet double curvature; there a stronger decal softener and a few hours of patience help. Decals wrinkle while drying, which is a normal state and must not be corrected by touching. Finally, unify everything with matte or semi-gloss clear.
