This detail set from Aires in 1:48 scale extends a plastic model of the early Mustang with a framed canopy (the B and C versions). The set combines resin parts, as a rule rounded off with photo-etched details, and serves to replace or refine selected areas of a model. It is an accessory for a kit, not a complete model.
The North American P-51B/C Mustang is an American single-seat fighter of the Second World War. You can tell the early B and C versions by their framed canopy, still before the bubble canopy was introduced on the later P-51D. Thanks to the license-built Packard V-1650 engine (the Rolls-Royce Merlin) the Mustang gained excellent performance at high altitude and the range for escorting bombers.
Wash the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Check the fit with your particular model before installing it; with detail sets the parts are seated before the fuselage and the wings are closed.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
