Black Dog 1:48 Phantom F-4B spine (resin detail set)

A resin detail set for improving a model of the F-4B Phantom II in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Black Dog. It replaces or completes the spine of the fuselage behind the cockpit with finely cast parts of faithful structure. It is not a model of an aircraft as such but an accessory that calls for a separately bought F-4B kit in this scale.

What the set is for

The spine of the Phantom hides equipment and access panels whose faithful rendering raises the level of a model markedly. The set suits above all builders who want to show detail not available in a standard injection mold. The real subject is the McDonnell Douglas F-4B Phantom II, a two-seat twin-engine supersonic machine of the US Navy and Marine Corps of the 1960s.

Building and installation tips

Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut the casting blocks away and join them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Sand resin wet and with respiratory protection. A filler primer before painting will help to even the joins of resin and plastic out.
