A set of waterslide decals from the Czech manufacturer ROP for a plastic model of the Polikarpov I-16 Rata fighter in 1:48 scale. The scheme is devoted to captured I-16 machines that the Finnish Air Force operated after taking them. It is an accessory for finishing and marking your own assembled model, not a model or a kit.
The Polikarpov I-16 was a Soviet single-seat low-wing monoplane of the 1930s with retractable landing gear and a radial engine. During the Soviet-Finnish fighting a number of these machines fell into Finnish hands and went on flying in different national markings, and it is exactly such captured examples that the set covers. Operating captured enemy equipment was common in the Second World War.
Apply the decals onto smooth gloss varnish. Cut the subject out, soak it in lukewarm water and once it releases slide it off the backing into place; push out the water that remains. A decal softener and a decal setting solution work well. Once it has dried, even the surface out with matte or semi-gloss varnish.
This is a set of decals, not an airplane model. The paints, the varnish and the model itself are not included in the package.
