A set of waterslide decals from the Czech manufacturer ROP for a plastic model of the Polikarpov I-16 Rata fighter in 1:48 scale. The subject concentrates on I-16 machines operated outside the Soviet Air Force, in the service of foreign countries and in service abroad. The product is an accessory for finishing your own model; it is not a model and not a kit.
The Polikarpov I-16 was a Soviet single-seat low-wing monoplane of the 1930s with retractable landing gear and a radial engine. Besides Soviet service it reached other users as well, whether through deliveries or as captured equipment, and it therefore carried a colorful range of national markings. It is these foreign users that the set covers.
The surface for the decals should be smooth and glossy. Cut the subject out, soak it in lukewarm water and once it releases move it off the backing into place; push out the water that remains. A decal softener and a setting solution help. Once it has dried, go over it with matte or semi-gloss varnish.
This is a set of decals, not an airplane model. The paints, the varnish and the model itself are not included in the package.
