An injection-molded plastic kit of the Polish PZL P.11c fighter from Mirage Hobby. The model captures the typical all-metal high-wing machine with its cranked gull wing, the type with which the Polish Air Force stood up to the odds at the start of the Second World War. The box holds injection-molded parts, clear parts for the canopy and a decal sheet; the exact contents and the number of marking schemes differ between individual releases.
The PZL P.11c was the final production version of the fighters designed by Zygmunt Pulawski. The high-set cranked wing gave the pilot an excellent view, and the whole airframe was all-metal, which was a modern solution in the early 1930s. A radial engine powered the aircraft. By 1939 it already trailed the newer monoplanes in performance, yet it became a symbol of a determined defense of the country's airspace.
This is older tooling, so expect to clean the parts up carefully, check the fits and fill the seams where needed. We would suggest thin cement for plastic, a primer and spraying with an airbrush. The typical scheme is a single khaki shade on the upper surfaces with light undersides; the fine skin stiffeners come out well after a light accent and a restrained wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
