Xtradecal 1:48 RAF WWII bomber squadron code letters and numbers (48 x 30 inches) is a double sheet of waterslide decals with large code letters and numbers in a gray shade.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of waterslide decals from the British maker Xtradecal in 1:48 scale, supplied as a double sheet. It does not hold the scheme of one particular aircraft but a complete set of individual code letters and numbers in a size matching 48 x 30 inches, done in the gray shade usual for British night bombers of the Second World War. The historical unit marking is reproduced here plainly as a reference for modelers.
British bomber squadrons used large code characters on the fuselage. From the loose letters and numbers of this set a modeler puts together his own squadron code and serial exactly to match the subject chosen. The double sheet provides enough characters to fit out even a larger bomber model.
Apply the characters over a smooth gloss clear coat so that no matte rim appears around them. Soak the element briefly, slide it into place, blot the excess water off and settle it with softener. Line the characters up carefully along the horizontal axis of the fuselage and keep the spacing even. Once dry, go over them with varnish to the gloss level you want.
This is a stand-alone set of decals, not a kit. The model, the paints and the varnish are not included in the package.
