Photo-etched rear large fuel tanks for the Soviet T-34/76 tank in 1:48 scale from Aber. A metal replacement, brackets and straps included.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched metal set in 1:48 scale from the Polish maker Aber. It replaces the plastic external fuel tanks in the large form, which the Soviet T-34/76 medium tank carried along the sides and at the rear of the hull. Metal allows finer straps, stirrups and brackets, which in injection-molded plastic are necessarily oversized.
The T-34 was the key Soviet medium tank of the Second World War, and in the T-34/76 version it was armed with a 76.2 mm gun. External fuel tanks extended its range and came in several shapes and sizes depending on the production batch — large cylindrical ones as well as smaller rectangular ones.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a hard mat or with photo-etch scissors, and make the bends in a bending tool or along a steel ruler. Glue them with cyanoacrylate glue and degrease the surfaces beforehand. Lay down a base coat suitable for metal before painting, otherwise the paint holds badly on the etched parts.
This is a detail set, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
