This set from MH models contains templates through which the markings are applied with an airbrush directly onto the finish of the model. The insignia therefore has no carrier film and no visible edge and behaves as part of the sprayed paint, which you will appreciate mainly during later weathering. The set complements the Italian variant of the same type, which the manufacturer lists separately. It is cut for the Re.2005 kit from Special Hobby in 1:48 scale, so check the match with your model. The extent of the sheet and the number of pieces are stated on the box.
The Reggiane Re.2005 Sagittario was an Italian single-engine fighter with a liquid-cooled V engine, a slender fuselage and an elongated nose. It was built in a small number of examples at the close of Italian fighter development and technically it was among the most advanced machines of its country. The set is aimed at the German form of the national markings.
The varnish must be cured and smooth. Lay the template down, press it thoroughly around the perimeter of the cut-out and spray perpendicularly, in two or three very thin coats. A heavy coat in one go tends to be the reason paint runs underneath and the edge is blurred. Take the mask off slowly and at an angle, while the paint is still flexible. For straight lines of the insignia it pays to check the symmetry before spraying rather than after.
This is a modeling accessory, not a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
