Exhaust nozzle masks for the F-4 Phantom II family (1:48) are accurate New Ware kabuki masks for masking the exhaust tailpipes while painting the model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A specialized set of accurately cut masks of kabuki (washi) tape for 1:48 scale. They serve for masking the exhaust nozzles, the tailpipes of the jet engines, while painting, so that the transition between the metallic shade of the nozzles and the rest of the airframe comes out clean and sharp. Kabuki is a thin rice paper tape with a light adhesive that follows curved surfaces well.
The set is intended for the whole family of McDonnell Douglas F-4 Phantom jets: the RF-4B, F-4E, RF-4E, F-4EJ, F-4F, F-4G, F-4J and F-4S versions. The Phantom II was a twin-engine multirole machine of the Cold War; its exhaust nozzles have the typical burnt-metal look that modelers like to bring out with a shade of their own.
Lay the mask carefully onto the nozzle, press the edge into shape and spray the metallic shades, for example steel or burnt metal. Apply the paint with an airbrush in thin coats and lift the mask off while the coat is still fresh. It is worth adding dark washes to bring out the detail.
This is a set of painting masks, not a model. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
