Turned brass replacement barrels for the USN 406 mm (16 inch) Mark 1 for turrets without canvas blast bags in 1:700 scale from MASTER. An accurate metal accessory, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely turned brass barrels of 406 mm (16 inch) caliber, the Mark 1 type, in the version for turrets without canvas blast bags, in 1:700 scale from the Polish manufacturer MASTER. It is a metal detail accessory that replaces the plastic barrels from the box. The package contains 8 pieces, which matches the main battery in four twin turrets. The version without blast bags has a different build at the root of the barrel than the variant with blast bags, which MASTER offers separately.
The American gun of 406 mm caliber and 45 calibers length (16 inch, L/45), the Mark 1, was the main armament of the battleships of the Colorado class, that is USS Colorado, USS Maryland and USS West Virginia. It was fitted in four twin turrets, eight barrels per ship in all. These were the first American battleships with guns of 406 mm caliber, and they served in the Second World War as well.
Cut off the original plastic barrels and clean them up, then seat the turned parts in the turrets. They are glued with cyanoacrylate or epoxy. Degrease the brass before painting and go over it with a primer for metal. Choose exactly the version that matches the build of the turrets on your model.
This is a replacement part, not a ship model. The kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
