A set of figures of a Russian naval crew in 1:48 scale from the maker Offset Scale Models. A combined package for peopling an aircraft or deck scene.
Responsibility details are not available.
This item is a combined set of figures, not a kit of equipment. It represents members of a Russian naval crew in 1:48 scale and complements the individually sold figures of the same line from the maker Offset Scale Models. A combined package makes sense where you need several figures at once in a scene and do not want to put them together piece by piece. The number of figures in the set, their poses and their kit are stated on the box.
On each casting, first find the mold parting lines and sand them gently, so that the modeling of the surrounding surface does not disappear. Then wash all the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap and let them dry thoroughly. Leaving this step out is the most common cause of paint cracking on a figure once it has dried. Glue separate parts with superglue in a small quantity.
Paint the figures one at a time on a wooden stick while they are not yet seated in the scene. A light gray primer in a thin coat reveals the shapes. Work from the large surfaces to the details and apply more thin coats. With a group of figures it pays to vary the shades of clothing slightly — when all the figures are painted exactly the same, the arrangement comes across as artificial. Darken the recesses, lighten the raised places and even the surface out at the end with a matte clear coat.
The figures are supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
