A resin accessory in 1:48 scale from the production of the Czech manufacturer Plusmodel. It is not a model of an aircraft but external armament, the training version of the R-27 air-to-air guided missile, which you hang under a model of a suitable Russian fighter and so set it apart from the run-of-the-mill builds with live munitions.
Training examples of guided missiles serve to train pilots and ground personnel: they make it possible to practice target acquisition, handling and loading without carrying a warhead and a motor. At first glance they differ from live munitions above all in their period markings, as training rounds carried striking stripes and lettering. The UZR-27 is derived from the medium-range R-27 missile (AA-10 Alamo in the NATO reporting system), the standard armament of the MiG-29 and Su-27 fighters. A model with training munitions is an interesting and seldom seen subject, typical of the machines of training units.
Wash the resin casting free of the mold release agent, cut the casting block off and glue the missile with cyanoacrylate glue; protect your airways while sanding. The color scheme of training rounds differed according to the unit and the period, so work from period photographs of the particular machine. A fine wash will bring the parting lines and the lug out, and a semi-matte varnish will even the surface up.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
