An add-on engine set for a model of the S-3A Viking carrier aircraft in 1:48 scale, intended for the ICM kit. It replaces the parts from the kit with a more accurate execution.
Responsibility details are not available.
The S-3 Viking is an American carrier aircraft that served on aircraft carriers to search for submarines and to attack them. It has a high-mounted wing and two turbofan engines slung in nacelles beneath it, so the powerplants are clearly visible from all sides on a model. That is exactly why it pays to give the engine nacelles more attention on it than on aircraft where the powerplant is hidden in the fuselage.
The set replaces the engine section from the kit with a more accurate execution with crisper edges and finer transitions. It is intended for the kit in 1:48 scale from the ICM company. The parts are not of polystyrene and are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Cut any excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down, so that the mating surfaces stay flat. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. First try the seating dry and fill any play with a thin plastic section; the specific procedure for this set is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
For builders of carrier aircraft who want more accurate powerplants on a model, and for those who build a model with open covers or for a display case, where it is looked at close up.
The kit of the aircraft, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
