Self-adhesive painting masks from AML for applying the upper camouflage scheme of the British Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb fighter in the pattern B version with an airbrush. The RAF used two mirror-image variants of the fighter camouflage (scheme A and scheme B); this set reproduces variant B. The masks follow the demarcation lines exactly and give crisp, clean boundaries without freehand masking. The set is cut to fit a model in 1:48 scale and is intended for Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb models.

The real subject

The Spitfire Mk.V was the most numerously built version of the Spitfire and the backbone of RAF Fighter Command in 1941 and 1942. The Vb version carried a mix of machine guns and cannons and the typical Dark Earth / Dark Green upper camouflage with pronounced boundaries between the color fields.

Use

• Spray the lighter of the upper shades and let it dry through.
• Transfer the masks according to the plan and press them down onto the surface.
• Spray the second upper shade and take the masks off once it is dry.
• Watch the correct orientation of pattern B (do not mix it up with scheme A).
