Toro Model 1:48, the wz.30 heavy machine gun with its crew, September 1939 is a resin set of three figures depicting a Polish machine gun position of 1939.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Polish maker Toro Model depicts a machine gun position of the Polish infantry in the autumn of 1939. According to the manufacturer's catalog it holds three crew figures, conceived as a whole: the gunner at the weapon and his helpers. It is not a vehicle kit but a diorama addition in cast resin, supplied unpainted and with casting blocks to be removed.
The wz.30 was a Polish 7.92 mm heavy machine gun whose design came from the American school of water-cooled weapons on a tripod mount. The crew numbered several men: one worked the trigger and the sights, another fed in the ammunition belts and looked after the cooling circuit. The position was usually built in a trench or behind cover, because both the weapon and the mount were heavy and moving them took time. The group therefore looks static in a diorama and goes well with scenes of fortifications, artillery or a defensive line.
Wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or nippers, sand the surfaces wet and protect your breathing, as resin dust is fine. Glue the figures with cyanoacrylate glue, and ideally try the arrangement dry first, together with the diorama base, so that the crew sits around the weapon at the right angles. Painting is easier while the figures are still mounted separately on sticks. Unify the metal parts of the weapon with a dark base and a fine dry brush, shade the uniforms with glazes and flatten the whole thing at the end.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
