A set of precisely turned metal barrels from MASTER in 1:700 scale. It is not a ship model but an accessory that replaces the plastic barrels of the German 8.8 cm naval gun with fine metal parts. The package holds 16 barrels.
The 8.8 cm SK L/45 was a German naval gun carried on surface vessels as well as on submarines of the Imperial German Navy and of the early war years. It served as secondary and anti-aircraft armament and was fitted to a whole range of ship types.
The metal barrels go in place of the plastic parts of the kit. Given the small 1:700 scale it pays to work with tweezers, to glue with cyanoacrylate and to degrease the parts before painting. The metal bores look truer than the plastic ones.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
