Responsibility details are not available.
A decal sheet with the national insignia of the Soviet Air Force of the period of the Second World War, meant for aircraft models in 1:48. It suits anywhere that the insignia supplied with a kit do not fit in size or shade, where they have been damaged, or where you need more than one set for a collection under way.
Soviet aircraft carried a red five-pointed star. In the first war years it was bare, with no border of any kind, and from 1943 a form with a white outline and a thin red line along its outer edge spread. The insignia appeared on the sides of the fuselage, on the lower surfaces of the wing and on a number of machines also on the vertical tail surface. The size and the placement differed according to the type of aircraft and the factory, so it pays to compare them with a photograph of the particular machine.
Cut the piece out close to the edge of the print and immerse it for a few seconds in lukewarm water. Let it rest a while until it starts to slide on the backing. The base must be glossy, as on matte paint a silvery veil is left under the film. Move the decal into place, draw the surplus water off and press it down with a soft cloth. On rivets and pressings a softener helps. Once dry, give it a clear coat and even the surface out with a varnish of the degree of gloss you want.
The package holds a sheet of decals only. The model, paints, varnish and softener are not included, unless stated otherwise.
