HGW fabric seat belts Spitfire Mk.I/V in 1:48 scale are a laser cut cloth accessory with photo-etched buckles for the cockpit of a model. It is a detail set, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech maker HGW holds realistic seat belts for the pilot's seat for models of the Supermarine Spitfire fighter in the Mk.I and Mk.V versions in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of the aircraft but an aftermarket cockpit accessory. The belts are laser cut from printed microtextile and completed with photo-etched metal buckles matching the British harness.
The material behaves like real fabric, folds well and holds its shape. The metal buckles came about in cooperation with the firm Eduard. The belts are fully workable and can be set in place fastened or unfastened. The textile stands up to the common non-aggressive modeling products and takes filters and oils for bringing the texture out.
Take the cut part out of the sheet, peel the backing paper off and work the belt between your fingers. Thread the ends through the buckles and fix them at points with cyanoacrylate. Once it is in place, bring it out gently with a heavily thinned oil paint.
The accessory is supplied on its own, unpainted. The glue and the paints are not included in the package.
