This limited edition from Eduard in 1:48 scale is conceived as a Dual Combo, that is, a package with two complete plastic models of the Supermarine Spitfire fighter in the tropical Mk.Vb and Mk.Vc versions. Eduard limited editions traditionally add photo-etched parts, self-adhesive masks and an extensive decal sheet with many marking options. The exact contents of the package are given in the instructions in the set.
The Supermarine Spitfire was a British single-engined fighter and one of the icons of the Second World War. The tropical versions of the Mk.V series received a dust filter under the engine for service in hot and dusty regions. The Southern Star edition concentrates on machines that fought over North Africa, the Mediterranean and the Pacific. The Mk.Vb carried a wing with mixed armament, while the Mk.Vc had the universal wing that allowed heavier cannon armament.
Finish and spray the cockpit before you close up the fuselage. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue and mask the glazing and the surfaces with the masks supplied before you lay down the camouflage. An airbrush and sand or gray-green camouflage schemes suit the tropical machines. Before you apply the decals, coat the surface with gloss, and after the decals even everything out with matte.
The models are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
