A set of resin wheels for the Sukhoi Su-27 in the early standard, 1:48 scale, replaces the wheels from a plastic kit with more exact castings. It is an accessory for the landing gear, not a model of an aircraft.

This item is an add-on resin set, not a kit of an aircraft. It contains landing gear wheels corresponding to the early standard of the Su-27 type. The resin castings have a more sharply rendered tread pattern, more legible lettering on the sides of the tires and more finely shaped rims, which are details that on a part from the box usually get lost in the mold seam. Wheels belong among the elements that are seen close up on a finished model, so the change shows at once.
The Sukhoi Su-27 is a heavy twin-engine fighter with a pronounced lift-bearing fuselage and with the main landing gear retracting into bays in the fuselage. During production and modernization the standard of the wheels and rims changed, which is why the maker of accessories distinguishes an early and a later variant. The maker also offers a variant for the later standard alongside this set. Check against photographs of the particular machine, therefore, which standard of wheels it had, so that the accessory matches the subject you have chosen.
Wash the wheels in lukewarm water with dish soap, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and sand the cut. Sand resin wet and with respiratory protection. It is glued with superglue; cement for plastic has no effect on resin. Paint the rims and the tires separately; the dividing edge is most easily solved with a circular mask or with masking fluid. Tires do not belong in a saturated black, and a dark gray shade softened by a light dusting near the contact patch looks more convincing.
This is an add-on set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
