An add-on set for aircraft models in 1:48 scale: the American SUU-30B underwing cluster munition dispenser in the early form.
Responsibility details are not available.
The SUU-30B is an American underwing cluster munition dispenser. The cylindrical body with tail surfaces was hung on a pylon under the wing or under the fuselage and opened over the target, so that the load was scattered over an area instead of into a single point. Dispensers of this type were part of the ordinary armament of American tactical aircraft for decades, and they therefore suit a whole range of models. The word early in the name distinguishes the early form from later modifications.
Add-on parts of external stores in 1:48 scale. How many pieces the package holds and what fittings it carries are given in the manufacturer's instructions. Sets of this kind are used both to fill the pylons of a model and to give a machine the armament matching the period chosen.
Cut the excess material and the traces of production off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder off carefully, so as not to damage the shape of the body or the tail surfaces. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm water with a detergent and degrease them. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts: parts that are not polystyrene hold with cyanoacrylate glue, best of all in gel form, which leaves a moment to adjust the position. Align the mountings so that the dispenser hangs parallel to the axis of the fuselage, as stores hung askew are visible on a finished model at first glance.
The model of the aircraft, pylons, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
