A complete package of accessories from the Czech maker Hauler, put together for one particular kit of the Tiger I Ausf.E heavy tank in 1:48 scale. The model is not in the package, and without the base kit you cannot use the set: in it are parts that replace or complete the plastic ones in places where there should be thin sheet or a fine structure. The maker does not give the composition of the materials in the name, so go through the contents of the package once you have unwrapped it and lay out the order of the build by it. The set is cut for the Tamiya kit.
The Tiger Ausf.E was a German heavy tank committed from 1942. It carried an 8.8 cm gun and heavy, predominantly vertically set armor plates. A characteristic element was the running gear with interleaved road wheels, which spread the great weight well but made maintenance harder, and a double set of tracks: wider combat ones and narrower transport ones for carriage by rail. A weight of over fifty tons made heavy demands on the gearbox, on fuel consumption and on the load capacity of bridges, so that the commitment of the machine was often decided more by the passability of the terrain and the routes than by its own capabilities.
With a set of this type the greatest part of the work falls on the small parts, that is, the eyes, the clasps, the tool clamps and the wires. It pays to work over a light-colored surface with a raised edge, because a part two millimeters in size that flies off will not be found on a carpet again. Use tweezers with smooth jaws, not serrated ones, as those will bend small sheet. Dose the glue from a drop on a piece of foil with a pin or a thin piece of wire. Photo-etched and plastic surfaces react differently to paint, so once it is finished, unify the whole vehicle with a primer; only then can the base shade be applied and the shading done. At the end a wash into the detail suits well, because the small things just added are exactly what should be visible on a finished model.
This is a set of accessories, not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
