What the set contains

Wheels under the JBW Superlight 2 designation in 1:24 scale and tires to go with them. The figure two is part of the name of the pattern; the size is given by a separate figure, thirteen inches. The inch value refers to the real car: thirteen inches is 330.2 mm, which in 1:24 scale works out to a rim diameter of just under fourteen millimeters.

What it is suited to

A thirteen-inch wheel belongs to smaller and older cars; on a modern car the brakes would no longer fit underneath. The set is therefore aimed at builds of historic and competition cars, where a light wheel with a pronounced spoke pattern changes the character of a model more than any other accessory.

Building and painting tips

Assemble the wheel dry and try it in the wheel arch; only then glue it. Parts that are not polystyrene are joined with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); solvent cement for plastic does not work on them. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part and sand the remainder down. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Spray the rim separately from the tire, and give the tire a dark gray shade rather than pure black, which looks flat on a model.
