1:48 The Tiny Tim rocket from Metallic Details is a resin armament accessory in 1:48 scale representing an American unguided air-launched rocket. It is not a kit of an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
A standalone armament accessory cast in resin. Unlike the variant with a trailer it holds only the rocket itself, so it suits above all hanging under a model of an aircraft or laying on an airfield apron. A resin casting holds a clean cylindrical shape and the sharp edges of the fins better than a split plastic part with a parting line.
Tiny Tim was an American large-caliber unguided air-launched rocket of the end of the Second World War. Because of its dimensions and weight it was carried only by certain types of aircraft and was handled with carts. In modeling it is popular precisely because it is conspicuously large and on a model in 1:48 scale it catches the eye at once.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap before painting. With elongated castings the casting block tends to be on one side of the body, so cut with a saw and true the surface up by wet sanding; the mark left by the block will be masked only by the primer, so check it in the light against the edge. If you hang the rocket under a wing, drill a hole for a pin or a wire reinforcement; superglue on its own on the contact patch will not last long. Compare the axis of the rocket with the axis of the fuselage, so that it does not hang crooked.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
