1:48 Tiny Tim with a trailer from Metallic Details is a resin accessory for airfield scenes in 1:48 scale capturing an American unguided rocket on a transport trailer.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin accessory for modelers, not a kit of an aircraft. It captures the large American Tiny Tim unguided air-launched rocket laid on a transport trailer, that is in exactly the situation in which it was moved around an airfield before being hung under an aircraft. This is a typical diorama vignette which gives a finished model context.
Tiny Tim was an American large-caliber unguided air-launched rocket of the end of the Second World War, intended for attacks on hardened targets. Given its dimensions and weight it was handled on an airfield with carts and trailers, not by hand; it was hung under an aircraft only on the spot. It is precisely this handling equipment that tends to be the most interesting thing in period photographs and in modeling scenes.
Wash the resin in lukewarm water with dish soap and cut the casting blocks off with a saw; with the long body of the rocket, take care that the cut does not end up at an angle, because a crooked rocket is visible at first glance. Check the straightness against glass. Glue with superglue, on larger areas in a gel consistency. Deal with the painting separately: the rocket and the trailer have a different shade and a different degree of wear, so paint them apart and join them only at the end, after the wash and the suggestion of dust.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
