This is a photo-etched detail set in thin sheet metal, not a model of the aircraft. It contains folding or fixed steps of the kind found on the sides of the fuselage of British aircraft, in 1:48 scale.
The steps served pilots and ground crew for climbing into the cockpit. On plastic kits they tend to be suggested only by scribing or by coarse plastic; the photo-etched parts replace them with accurate metal elements of a realistic thickness, which bring the surface of the fuselage to life markedly.
Degrease the parts, separate them carefully and form them if needed. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue. Seating them in pre-drilled holes gives strength and the right position; apply a primer for metal before painting.
This is not a model of an aircraft but an accessory photo-etched set. The base kit and paints are not included in the package.
