The resin figure US aircraft mechanic, Second World War — the Pacific in 1:48 scale from Aerobonus. Another pose from the line of ground personnel to be painted; it is not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin figure of an American aircraft mechanic from the Second World War in the Pacific theater, in 1:48 scale from the workshop of Aerobonus (the Aires line). It is not an aircraft model but a supplementary figure to be painted and set into an airfield scene. The resin casting is one of the poses of a wider series of mechanics, so together with the other parts of the line you can put together a convincing working crew around a machine.
A figure of a mechanic servicing an aircraft gives a diorama action and a human scale — at an engine, loading ammunition or preparing for takeoff, the model comes across more vividly than a lone aircraft on a stand. The figure will complement American fighters and bombers deployed in the Pacific.
Wash the remains of the mold release agent off the resin parts, cut off the casting blocks and clean up the joints with respiratory protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The work goes best when you paint the figure before the final assembly; use primer, shaded coats of acrylics or oils and a dry brush with glazing on the face and the gear.
The figure is supplied unpainted and cast in resin, intended to be glued together and painted. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
