Responsibility details are not available.
A resin figure of an American naval fighter pilot seated, together with an ejection seat, in 1:48 scale from the Aerobonus brand (the Aires range). The seat is shaped for the cockpit of the Vought F-8 Crusader carrier fighter in the E, H, J and K versions. The pilot's torso is cast directly in the seat, while the head and arms are usually separate for a variable pose; it is a cockpit accessory, not an aircraft model.
The figure represents a US Navy fighter pilot of the turn of the 1950s and 1960s and of the Vietnam War, when the Crusader was one of the main carrier fighters. The pilot wears the kit of the day: a helmet, an oxygen mask, a life vest and a g-suit. He fills the cockpit faithfully and recalls the era of the last purely gun-armed carrier fighters of the US Navy.
Resin parts for more experienced modelers: wash them to remove mold release residue, separate them from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and protect your airways while sanding. Apply primer before painting, lay the paint down in thin coats and bring out the details with a wash. The head and arms are usually separate, so the pose can be adjusted slightly; check the fit dry.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
