A resin set of two crew figures for the American naval fighter F-14A/B Tomcat in 1:48 scale from the Aerobonus brand (the Aires range of the company). The package contains two figures, a pilot and a radar intercept officer, and two ejection seats for the cockpit to go with them. It is a detail accessory for experienced modelers that raises the realism of a Tomcat cockpit considerably.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a two-seat carrier fighter of the US Navy; the front seat belonged to the pilot and the rear one to the radar intercept officer. The set captures their flying kit faithfully, the helmets, oxygen masks, flight suits and life vests, and adds the ejection seats, which are among the most conspicuous features of the cockpit. The set is intended for the F-14A and F-14B versions.
These are resin parts: first wash them to remove mold release residue, separate them carefully from the casting blocks and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); protect your airways while sanding resin. Apply primer before painting and lay the paint down in thin coats. Bring out the details of the kit and the straps with a wash and a fine dry brush. Before you seat them in the cockpit, check that the seats fit the particular Tomcat kit.
