A figure of an American aircraft mechanic of the Second World War period in 1:48 scale. It complements models of US Army Air Forces machines and scenes from field as well as permanent bases. Supplied unpainted.
Pilots stand beside aircraft in dioramas often, a mechanic rarely, and yet it is precisely he who sets the scene in motion. A figure bent over the engine, on the step by the cowling or with a tool in hand gives the model a story: the machine stops being an exhibit and starts being a machine between two flights. At the same time it justifies everything lying around the scene, that is the crates, the tarpaulin, the drums and the opened engine panels.
Cut the excess material off a short way from the part with a sharp blade and carefully sand the remainder so that the definition of the folds is preserved. Choose the way of gluing according to the material of the parts and the manufacturer's instructions; cyanoacrylate will join even parts on which polystyrene cement has no effect. Wash, degrease and prime the figure before painting. Working clothing will take more dirt than a pilot's uniform, so a dark wash into the folds, fine oil stains on the knees and forearms and light emphasis on the edges all pay off. Build the face up in layers and leave shadow in the eye sockets.
The aircraft model, tools, a base, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
