This resin set from Aerobonus in 1:48 scale contains a figure of a modern fighter pilot of the US Air Force together with an ejection seat for an F-16 model. It is a detail accessory for more experienced modelers that brings the cockpit of an F-16 kit to life or serves to display the pilot beside a finished model. It is supplied as a resin kit, unassembled and unpainted.
US Air Force pilots in single-seat fighters such as the F-16 use modern ejection seats and wear full flight equipment: a pressure suit, a survival vest, a helmet with an oxygen mask and anti-g trousers. The figure captures this contemporary equipment and is designed to be seated in the cockpit in a flying pose.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting; work the flight suit, the vest and the helmet with glazes and a fine wash and build the face up in flesh tones. Try the fit in your particular cockpit dry beforehand and adjust it if necessary.
